The Presidential Election Petition Court Chairman, Justice Haruna Tsammani, in his ongoing lead judgement in the petition by the Labour Party and its candidate, says there is no evidence that President Bola Tinubu has any criminal record in the United States of America.
He maintained that Tinubu only forfeited $460,000 to the authorities in USA in a civil proceedings. He said the development was not a result of a criminal indictment of Tinubu.
He held that the Federal Bureau of Investigations in the USA had in a letter to the Nigerian Inspector General of Police, cleared Tinubu of the commission of any crime.
He held that the Labour Party had not been able to establish that Tinubu was arrested, indicted and convicted of any crime in the US.
He maintained that the argument that Tinubu was not qualified to contest for the presidential election on the basis of a narcotics linked crime in America, was invalid.
