Subsidy Removal: Buhari Seeks Approval For $800m World Bank Loan

President Muhammadu Buhari, has sent a letter to the Senate seeking its approval to take a loan of $800 million from the World Bank to cushion the effects of subsidy removal.

The Federal Government had in April announced that the use of the fund would be targeting 50 million vulnerable Nigerians or 10 million households, as part of its subsidy palliative measures.
