There is currently a heavy presence of  teams of policemen and soldiers of OP MESA at Ojota, ostensibly to stop the scheduled Yoruba Nation Rally from taking place.

Although, no crowd of Yoruba Nation agitators is on ground, TheseTimes  can report that there is no plan by them to shelve the rally.

The Lagos State Police Command had on Friday reiterated its stand that it would not allow the rally to hold and vowed to deal with anyone participating in it.

The Command had in a statement issued by its spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, said, “the Command and other security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps and Department of State Services have however put measures in place to prevent any act of lawlessness, oppression and intimidation, of any kind, in the state on the said date, 3rd July, 2021 and beyond as Lagos State cannot afford to record and experience the violence orchestrated by some individuals during the 2020 Endsars protest that led to massive destruction of lives and properties in the state.

“The command still reiterated its stance that anyone caught participating or facilitating the so-called mega rally in Lagos State will be dealt with within the ambits of the law.”

But  On Saturday morning,  Olayomi Koiki the spokesman for leading Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, posted on his Facebook page; Good morning. The Rally will hold today 3rd of July in Lagos State. The Lagos Mega Rally starts at 9am. OJOTA.”
