Police Disperse Yoruba Nation Protesters With Tear Gas, Water Cannon

Despite all restrictions  put in place by the police, some Yoruba Nation protesters still found their way to Gani Fawehinmi Park at Ojota.

They were, however, dispersed by the police who deployed tear gas and water cannon. The protesters   were earlier chanting their grievances while the  Lagos State Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu was addressing  journalists at the venue.

They chorused words such as  “we want Yoruba Nation”, ”We are tired of being raped, we are tired of being killed, Give us our Yoruba nation now” and ,” No going back.”

Communications Manager to Ilana Omo Oodua, Maxwell Adeleye claimed that he escaped the “police bullet.”

“As the Police  were pursuing me, an okada rider came from nowhere and I jumped into his back. He took me away.”
