The Senate has on Thursday approved 3 per cent for the host communities as it passes passed the Petroleum Industry Bill .
TheseTimes has earlier reported that the House of Representatives passed the Petroleum Industry Bill.
The Senate on its part passed the PIB, 2021 after the clause by clause consideration of the report of its joint committee on Petroleum (Upstream, Downstream and Gas) on PIB.

An elated President of the Senate, President Ahmad Lawan, said the Ninth National Assembly had achieved one of its fundamental legislative agenda.
He said, “The demons (of PIB) have been defeated in this Chamber. We have passed the bill.”
