A Yaba Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State, has on Wednesday refused to grant the bail application of Nollywood actor, Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor.
Baba Ijesha who had been in police custody since April 22, 2021
was taken to court in a black maria vehicle of the Rapid Response Squad.

Baba Ijesha was granted bail on On May 17, 2021, by magistrates and judicial workers on tour to decongest prisons in the state.
He could not, however, meet the bail conditions. The conditions included the sum of N500,000 and provision of a level 16 civil servant as surety.
Counsel to Baba Ijesha, Kayode Olabinran told journalists why his client was not granted bail.
He said, “He (Baba Ijesha) was not granted bail because the case has been filed at the High Court and that has denied the (Magistrate) Court the power to grant him bail.”
