Tragedy: Three Church General Overseers Die Within 24 hours

This is a mourning period for the Christian community in Nigeria as three church General Overseers died within 24 hours.

The first shocking news was that of the death of the Founder and leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations,  Temitope Balogun Joshua who was found dead at 2:00am on Sunday, 6th June.

Joshua was said to have walked out of the church hall during a service he was conducting on Saturday night and retired to his apartment.  He was later found dead at 2 am.

His death was officially announced through his church’s Facebook page.  The post read in part:

“God has taken His servant Prophet TB Joshua home — as it should be by divine will. His last moments on earth were spent in the service of God. This is what he was born for, lived for and died for.”

While the Christian community was still mourning Joshua, the news of the death  of the General Superintendent of Redemption Ministries, Worldwide, Rev. Stephen Akinola came.

Akinola whose church was based in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State was said to have undergone kidney transplant twice although the cause of his death was not yet ascertained.

But death was certainly not satisfied with taking the lives of two prominent clerics, it  some became obvious that it  added Reverend Emma Okereke of Divine Power Pentecostal Chapel to its grim list.
