The Federal Government says it has returned the repatriated £4.2m looted by James Ibori to Delta State.
This was said by the Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris on Tuesday.
James Ibori is a former governor of Delta State.
Idris made the disclosure while appearing before the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee on Assessment and Status of All Recovered Loots Movable and Immovable Assets from 2002 to 2020 by Agencies of the Federal Government of Nigeria for Effective Efficient Management and Utilisation.

He affirmed that funds looted from a state treasury are always returned to the state.
This was contrary to an earlier comment by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami who said that the loot would be used to fund projects in the country.
