A Senior Special Assistant to Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has been arrested in the United States over wire fraud.
The aide Abidemi Rufai was arrested at the JKF Airport in New York for allegedly defrauding Washington State Employment Security of over $350,000.
Rufai, a former House of Representatives aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party, is accused of using multiple identities of more than 100 Washington residents to steal over $350,000 in unemployment benefits from the Washington State Employment Security Department (ESD) last year.
