The newly appointed acting Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba has formally taken over from his immediate predecessor, Mohammed Adamu.
The handing over formally took place on Wednesday at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo earlier on Wednesday decorated , Usman Baba, as acting Inspector-General of Police.
The announcement of Baba’s appointment was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Police Affairs, Mohammad Dingyadi, while the erstwhile IGP, Mohammed Adamu was in Imo where he had gone to inspect the level of damage caused to the police headquarters in the state by hoodlums who attacked it.
Adamu’s tenure officially ended in February having completed 35 years in service but he got a three month extension by President Buhari.
The three-month extension was however yet to elapse when he was replaced with Baba.
