President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of a Deputy Inspector-General, DIG, Usman Alkali Baba who hails from Yobe State as the Acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP.
Baba takes over from from Muhammed Adamu who visited Imo State on Monday to access the level of damage done to the Command’s headquarters by hoodlums.

Adamu’s tenure should have ended on February 1, 2021 when he had clocked 35 years in service but Buhari left him in office.
