The Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami says any Nigerian who does not have the National Identity Number risks being jailed for 14 years.
Pantanmi who was speaking during a press briefing in Abuja, said it was a crime for anyone to open a bank account and pay taxes without NIN.

He said that 51 million National Identity Numbers had been enrolled.
He said 189 million SIMs had ben been registered already. He said 150 million of them had been gone through complete registration while the others had issue with improper registration.
