“Fire, Fire, see fire everywhere” were probably the thoughts coursing through the minds of bystanders who watched as a raging fire destroyed at least 700 shops in Katsina Central Market on Monday morning.
It was learned that the fire which cause was yet to be ascertained started about 7:30 am.
Traders lost valuables which included household items, electronics, fabrics, food items, among others.

One of the traders, said hoodlums took an undue advantage of the situation by going on looting spree.
Federal, State Fire fighters and private individuals later combined to put out the raging inferno.
